Fritz Hansen PK23 Front Upholstered Lounge Chair
Manufacturer: Fritz Hansen
Designer: Poul Kjaerholm
This piece is an original licensed Fritz Hansen piece.
The PK23™ was originally conceptualised by Poul Kjærholm in 1954. Wide and low in form with a distinctive split-seat design, it was intended as a conversational chair for lounge areas but did not make it beyond sketches at the time. Kjærholm’s wife, Hanne Kjærholm, later approved a prototype of the PK 23, and it has now come into production for the first time. The chair features vertically divided laminated veneer shells for the seat and back with front upholstery for additional comfort and a softened expression.
